Introducing the J litter…Jaxon, Jersey, Joker, and Jordi!  These orange bundles of energy were born on June 26.  At five months old, these guys show all of the characteristics considered special and wonderful about puppies.  They will play tug-of-war, go bounding after a ball, chew on bones, nip at fuzzy ears and floppy lips, and give chase for hours on end.  When they finally tire out, they’ll curl up for a well-deserved nap, preferably in the nearest warm lap or in a big puppy pile.

These boys are very well socialized and even though they like to play together, they all seek human companionship and eagerly compete to be the center of attention. All of the boys are making progress in their housetraining, although they are in the very beginning stages at this point.

Jordi take turns being in charge with Joker, competing for control of the litter. However, between the two of them, Joker normally prevails. But that’s okay, because Jordi knows that he can boss around the rest of his littermates. Jordi’s favorite toy appears to be the rope. His favorite game is to grab the rope, shake it to death, and then run around the yard playing keep-away from the rest of the pack. Of course, once they move on to the next game, Jordi quickly loses interest, because, hey, a rope toy isn’t much fun if no one is around to play tug-of-war. Even though he puts on a tough front, Jordi is actually quite a softie. He loves nothing more than to snuggle in his foster mom’s lap for either a quick nap or to give lots of kisses.

Jordi is also the puppy who keeps a close eye on the whereabouts of his foster mom and dad. He tests (and tackles if possible) any barrier that separates him from his human family. When the puppies first go to bed, Jordi is often very vocal about being left behind .  In order to soothe him, we simply sit by his cage for a few minutes. Jordi will quickly settle down and go to sleep in his crate, and then we tiptoe back to our room for a good night’s sleep.  As soon as Jordi makes some progress in his house training, he will most likely be ready to snuggle in the family bed with the other dogs.

Lori Vabrel hopes that Jordi can snuggle his way into the hearts of a forever family soon!
