Oriole (nicknamed Birdie) is a wonderful two-year old setter, who only wants to love and be loved. She's sweeter than sweet, and while still fairly energetic, she'll lay beside "her person" and take a good nap.
Her background isn't entirely clear: she came from a plantation in Georgia, given up because she didn't hunt. However, she must have been a house dog at some point, because she is totally house-trained. She has not had one accident in her foster home - and sleeps through the night. She has graduated from the mud room to the master bedroom, albeit on a dog bed (for now.)
Birdie would probably enjoy a dog or two closer to her age to play with. Her 13- and 11-year-old foster siblings are a little too stodgy for her. She knows her nickname and comes quickly when called. After her kennel days, she has loved having a large backyard in which to run. She's shown no indication of trying to be a fence jumper.
Birdie is spayed and up to date on her shots. She's slender, weighing in at 36 pounds. For treats she enjoys a piece of cheese and, more recently, she took to some leftover pasta.
Birdie would love to have a new family of her very own.
