Shotgun came to ACES with another setter; this pair spent their lives in outdoor kennels until their family’s living situation changed and they needed new homes. It took Shotgun a while to get comfortable in the house; he preferred to stay in his crate or sleep on the mat next to the back door. Once he did though, there was no turning back! This senior boy makes the most out of every dog bed and is loving the freedom he has to roam his backyard.
Shotgun is a male liver field setter, weighing 49 lbs. He has gained about 10 pounds in foster care over the past year and could probably drop a few. He may not be the best dog in the field, but Shotgun is a professional cuddle buddy. The closer he can get to you the better! It didn’t take long for this sweet boy to learn that people are for loving and the fluffy pillows on the floor are for sleeping.
Shotgun is good with the other dogs in the house. He likes to hide his prized possessions (his antler, his snake stuffie) in his bed to keep them safe from the others. If they are really special, he will take them outside to one of his secret hiding spots. Shotgun is house-trained and crate-trained. He used to be crated at night but has earned the right to stay in his donut dog bed, snoring until morning.
